MMA’s leading promotion is set to stage one of the biggest events of the year on Saturday night, as UFC 322 takes place from inside the prestigious walls of Madison Square Garden.

Two title fights will top the card, with Zhang Weili’s shot at two-division supremacy against flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko setting the stage for Islam Makhachev’s own double champ opportunity against welterweight king Jack Della Maddalena.

With a number of top contenders and notable names set to compete on the undercard, the lineup is being described by many as the UFC’s best of 2025. With that, plenty of high-profile attendees are expected.

But unlike most events in the city, that won’t include the United States President.

UFC president Dana White has long credited Donald Trump for aiding the promotion in its early days by providing a venue for events.

As a fan of the sport, the US leader has frequently appeared cageside, more recently after making grandiose entrances at the start of PPV main cards.

That was the case just this past June when Trump walked out alongside White at UFC 316. But unlike that numbered event in Newark, the president won’t be appearing at MSG on November 15.

During an interview with Fox Sports Australia ahead of UFC 322, White confirmed that Trump will not be in attendance at the event in New York City.

“No, he won’t be there at this event,” White said.

Trump’s last public appearance at a sporting event was for the NFL game between Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions, where he was loudly booed.

The US president is currently in the midst of controversy after several newly released documents from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s estate contained references to Trump, who responded by calling them a “hoax” on social media.

While he may be missing the upcoming event at MSG, Trump will be cageside for a card that promises to be among the biggest of 2026.

In the summer, the US leader announced plans for a UFC event at the White House as part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of American independence.

White soon co-signed the announcement and began disclosing details about the show, which he has promised will be “spectacular.”

The latest update regarding the UFC’s White House card revealed plans for the promotion’s CEO and the US president to host a dinner with global dignitaries in Washington D.C. before watching the fights alongside them.
