Popular and much loved BBC drama Shetland has officially revealed the trailer for season 10 as the countdown to its release date begins.
With a fresh cast and thrilling new crime to solve, we’re welcoming back DI Ruth Calder (played by Ashley Jensen) and DI Alison “Tosh” MacIntosh (played by Alison O’Donnell) after waiting a whole year to see what happens next in the gripping series
And finally, it’s been confirmed that Shetland season 10 will return to our TV screens on 5 November on BBC One at 9pm.
In the new trailer, we get an exciting first look at what’s to come in the 10th series of the popular BBC drama.

So what can we expect from Shetland season 10’s plot? This series will see main stars Calder and Tosh travel to the isolated hamlet of Lunniswick.
Here, they will investigate the mysterious murder of an elderly woman.
The full synopsis reads: “The team discover that the body of the retired social worker has been out in the elements for a number of days. The case will see Tosh and Calder excavate the victim’s life, past and present, as well as the lives of those who knew her.
“They soon begin to uncover dark secrets and terrible deeds at the heart of this close knit community.”.
The uncovering and solving of this crime brings a complicated web of lies, testing of loyalties and unexpected consequences for all – including the team.

A popular and much-loved crime drama on BBC, this series will see the return of many familiar faces in the cast including Steven Robertson (DC Sandy Wilson), Lewis Howden (Sgt Billy McCabe), Anne Kidd (pathologist Cora McLean) and Angus Miller (Donnie, Tosh’s partner).
And for season 10, Shetland will also be welcoming some new faces as Clive Russell, Ellie Haddington, Niall MacGregor, Greg McHugh and Frances Gray to the cast line-up.
