😱 Ace Frehley’s Last Interview: Shocking Revelations Before His Untimely Passing! 😱
In what would become his final interview, Ace Frehley, the legendary guitarist and founding member of KISS, opened up about his life, career, and the influences that shaped him as a musician.
Speaking candidly, Frehley reflected on his teenage years and the iconic artists who inspired him to pick up the guitar.
“I never took a guitar lesson,” he admitted, naming guitar legends like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, and Pete Townshend as pivotal figures in his musical development.
Frehley recounted a memorable moment from his youth when he attended Led Zeppelin’s first performance in New York City at the Fillmore East.
“I was around 16 or 17 years old,” he recalled.

“Led Zeppelin was opening for Iron Butterfly, and after they played, half the audience left. It was a shame for the headliners, but there was such a buzz about this new band.”
His vivid memories of that night highlighted the excitement surrounding Led Zeppelin’s rise to fame and the unique atmosphere of the New York music scene at the time.
As the conversation shifted to his own musical journey, Frehley showcased his prized possession—a custom-made Les Paul guitar that closely resembled his original 1959 model.
“This is my favorite Les Paul,” he said proudly, explaining how he had received a dozen replicas from the Gibson Custom Shop.
“I played them all, and this one had the best sound,” he noted, emphasizing his passion for guitars and the joy they brought him.
Frehley also shared insights into his extensive guitar collection, revealing that he had owned as many as 150 guitars at one point.
“Now I have about 75,” he explained.
“One guitar less here or there doesn’t matter much when you have that many.”
His enthusiasm for music and instruments was palpable as he discussed plans to sell one guitar to fund the purchase of a Jaguar car, showcasing his playful spirit and love for both music and life.
Reflecting on his rise to fame, Frehley recounted the thrill of hearing his songs on the radio for the first time.
“I remember driving in the Bronx, and one of our songs came on. It was just like, ‘Wow!’” he exclaimed, recalling the excitement of seeing his album in stores.
“I made it,” he said, capturing the joy of achieving his dreams.

When asked about KISS memorabilia, Frehley noted that he had never needed to buy any for himself, as it was always given to him.
“I have boxes filled with memorabilia,” he said, reminiscing about the band’s merchandising frenzy.
He expressed mixed feelings about the commercialization of KISS, mentioning that it sometimes overshadowed the music.
“There were times when I felt Jean [Simmons] got carried away with the merchandising,” he admitted, emphasizing the importance of staying true to their musical roots.
As the conversation turned to KISS’s relationship with Detroit, Frehley shared that many fans mistakenly believed the band was from the city due to their early success there.
“We spent a lot of time in Detroit because it was centrally located,” he explained.
“We were headlining Cobo Hall while still playing smaller venues in New York and California.”
His fondness for Detroit reflected the strong connection KISS had with the city and its fans.
Frehley also discussed the evolution of KISS and the challenges they faced as they gained popularity.
“People either loved us or hated us,” he noted, reflecting on the band’s polarizing image.
“Some thought we were just a gimmick, but we made good records.”
His candidness about the band’s struggles and triumphs showcased his deep understanding of the music industry and the dynamics of fame.

As the interview progressed, Frehley reminisced about the early days of KISS, recalling the camaraderie among band members.
“We used to travel in a station wagon, sharing hotel rooms,” he said, emphasizing the bond they formed during those formative years.
“There was a lot more camaraderie back then,” he reflected, highlighting the simplicity and joy of their early touring days.
Tragically, Ace Frehley passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 74, following complications from a brain injury sustained in a fall.
His family confirmed that he had been hospitalized and placed on life support before they made the heart-wrenching decision to let him go.
Frehley, born in the Bronx, New York, rose to fame in the 1970s as KISS’s “Spaceman,” known for his explosive guitar solos and larger-than-life stage presence.

After leaving KISS in the early ’80s, Frehley enjoyed a successful solo career with his band, Frehley’s Comet, and later rejoined KISS for their 1996 reunion tour.
His contributions to rock music were recognized when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Tributes from across the music world have poured in, celebrating Frehley as a trailblazer whose sound and style forever changed the landscape of rock music.
Ace Frehley’s passing marks a significant loss for the music community, as he was the first member of KISS’s original lineup to leave this world.
He leaves behind a powerful legacy that continues to inspire generations of musicians, reminding us all of the magic and energy he brought to the stage.
