😱 Sammy Hagar Reveals Why He Reject Reunion With David Lee Roth and Criticized His Former Bandmates 😱
In a recent interview that has sent shockwaves through the rock music community, Sammy Hagar has decisively ruled out any possibility of reuniting with David Lee Roth or engaging in any Van Halen-related projects involving the surviving members of the iconic band.
During a candid conversation with NME, Hagar offered some of his most pointed remarks yet regarding the chances of reviving the legendary group in any form, while also delivering sharp criticisms aimed at his former co-frontman.
For years, fans have speculated about the potential for a tour or special event featuring both Hagar and Roth, especially following the tragic passing of guitarist Eddie Van Halen in 2020.
However, Hagar made it abundantly clear that such speculation is unfounded.

When asked about the possibility of a “Sam and Dave” tour with the surviving members of Van Halen, he dismissed the idea outright, stating, “No, I don’t have any hope to play with Alex,” referring to drummer Alex Van Halen.
His comments reflect ongoing concerns about Alex’s health issues, which have repeatedly stalled any attempts to revive the band.
Hagar’s remarks about Roth were particularly striking.
He acknowledged their complicated and often antagonistic relationship but emphasized that he does not harbor any personal animosity towards Roth.
“And Dave, I could care less,” he stated bluntly.

“I have no problem with Dave, but I wouldn’t want to tour with him again.”
Hagar recounted their experiences during the 2002 Sam and Dave tour, which was marked by significant behind-the-scenes tension, clashing egos, and notorious disagreements between the two singers.
He described Roth as “miserable” and “no fun,” suggesting that Roth is not the person he portrays himself to be.
“He’s always playing mind games,” Hagar added, highlighting the difficulties they faced during their time together on tour.
Hagar also expressed concerns about Roth’s vocal abilities, questioning whether he could perform at a level that would justify modern ticket prices.

“Needless to say, we’ve all heard that he’s struggling with his voice, and I wouldn’t want to bring him out with the ticket price it would be and have to apologize to people,” Hagar explained.
This point underscores Hagar’s sense of fairness to fans, many of whom have longed to see Van Halen’s music celebrated on stage by its surviving members.
Instead of looking back, Hagar stated that he is fully committed to his current project, the Best of All Worlds band.
He described this lineup as the most satisfying musical collaboration he has had since his time with Van Halen.
“I’m working with Joe Satriani, who is as close to Eddie as you’re going to get, and Michael Anthony, who is as much a part of Van Halen’s sound as anybody, along with Kenny Aronoff on drums,” Hagar shared enthusiastically.
“This is the best band I’ve been in since Van Halen,” he concluded, underscoring his satisfaction with his current musical direction.
Hagar’s comments reveal the deep-seated divisions that have prevented any form of Van Halen reunion.
With Alex Van Halen inactive, Roth grappling with health and vocal issues, and Hagar firmly closing the door on the past, hopes for a revival of the band’s legacy appear more remote than ever.
As fans come to terms with Hagar’s definitive stance, it is evident that the dream of seeing the original Van Halen lineup back together on stage is fading into the realm of wistful nostalgia.
The complexities of their relationships, along with the realities of aging and health, have created an insurmountable barrier to any potential reunion.
In a world where rock legends often reunite for tours, Hagar’s refusal to engage with Roth or the surviving members of Van Halen speaks volumes about the challenges they face.
For many fans, this news is bittersweet, as they reflect on the incredible music produced by Van Halen and the dynamic between its members.
As Sammy Hagar continues to forge his own path with the Best of All Worlds band, he leaves behind a legacy intertwined with one of rock music’s most storied bands.
While the possibility of a Van Halen reunion may be extinguished, the music and memories will endure, reminding fans of the powerful impact the band has had on the rock genre.
Ultimately, Hagar’s decision to focus on his current endeavors rather than revisit the past is a testament to his commitment to authenticity and artistic integrity.
As the rock world moves forward, fans can only hope that the spirit of Van Halen lives on through the music and the new generations of artists inspired by their groundbreaking sound.
